Why I LOVE teaching!

Kids are my favorite thing in the world! Is that weird? They could honestly be doing the most annoying thing in the world and I'd think it was cute :) My students made me laugh and smile alll day today! They are seriously the cutest! And they are FINALLY in a routine! I don't even have to say anything anymore, they know exactly what to do!

One of my favorite things about teaching is helping my students cope with their anxiety issues. For some reason, I have a lot of students who are anxious! Usually because something didn't go the way they wanted it to (and I fully understand!). I know that they will have anxiety their whole life (hellllo!) so I really try to help them see that what they think is awful is really not that bad. When they look at me with those "you're right, it really isn't that bad" eyes I know that I've done my job!

Oh my gosh, and I just love when my students relate what we learn to their daily lives. Today in math we were talking about groups of numbers in a park scene and finding different groups of objects. After we found the group of 8 and talked about the partners of 8 one of my kiddos says "7 students and 1 teacher, we have 8 people!" I about fell out of my chair!!! I love it!!

Wonderful Weekend!

What a great way to end a nice, restful week! On Saturday, Erit and I went to watch her friend's softball game in Huntington Beach. We put on our cute outfits (inspired by the cutest blogger ever!) and had a photo shoot right before the sun went down. It was sooo much fun! Can't wait to do it again!

He thought our photo shoot looked fun, obviously!

   

                          

Today, Tom and I went on a bike ride to the beach and had a picnic. (Romantic, I know :) ) I wanted to take more cute outfit pictures but it was so freakin' cold, I could not pose! (It was probably about 60 degrees...don't judge me!)

 

It was definitely a wonderful weekend, but I sure am excited to see my kiddos tomorrow!

Some things to share

 

After I got my job, my BFF helped me countless hours to set up my classroom. She is truly the best! I saw a stamp on DJ inkers and was inspired. I tied the card to a bag of Sweedish Fish :)

Then, for my other BFF, who also got her first teaching job (woohoo!) I told her I was "beary" proud of her and attached her card to her favorite candy, gummi bears!

 Last year, I got to work with one of the most amazing teachers ever, Miss Bagwell! She is such an inspiration to me. She was moving up north over the summer and I wanted to give her something to remember her students and how special she truly is. I had her Early Birds stamp their thumbprints with blue acrylic paint and shaped their thumbs into birds. Her Later Gators used green paint and two thumb prints to form the head of a gator. It turned out so cute!

 My brother got married this summer! The wedding was so much fun! My mom, sister and I helped with the centerpieces:

 I made that frame with a wooden frame from Michael's for $1 and hot glued some shells to it! They turned out really cute if I do say so myself!

I also made this card box for friends and family to put cards in at the Wedding:

And that was the last of my creativity! So now it's time to start again!

Take Two!

I tried to start a blog already. I got through about a week of blogging, and then gave up. It wasn't for me, I thought. But I then realized it was what I was blogging about that I didn't enjoy. So after finding some new blogs to follow, I became quickly inspired.

I have also been craving some creativity. I haven't been able to be creative in several months (weird, being a kindergarten teacher and all) and it's been seeping through my veins! So I figured I would be more inclined to create if I had someone to share my creations with. So here we go, again...
