a BIG thank you!

At my BTSA meeting in December, the presenter gave us a graph like this, showing the phases of a first year teacher:

I think it was safe to say that I definitely was here:
and I had NO idea how, or if, I would ever make it back up the ladder! And then I started reading teacher blogs. You guys have no idea how you have changed my life! I was seriously considering quitting my job; not finding it rewarding or worth it anymore.  But now I have a new outlook. I love reading all about the things you do in your classrooms, and all the fun activities you share. I love getting new organziation techniques, and reason to get up in the morning!

So THANK YOU! I know I would not be feeling this way if it hadn't been for you!

It is true that in teaching, especially that first year, and any year you change grade levels or schools, it gets harder before it becomes rewarding again :) Happy to hear you're having a good time with teaching again through the blogs!!

Glad your feeling better about teaching. To be honest for me it's the second year that's the hardest. I think the first year I am just trying to stay afloat. This is my second year teaching ELL, I used to teach Gen Ed First. This year I feel is so much harder than last year. Same when I taught first grade. My fisrt year flew by, second year was a nightmare & third was a piece of cake. Then everything changed and I started all over again.

It always gets better after the first year. I think I was at that survival point for a looong time! Glad to hear you're finding inspiration through blogs. Teachers are the most supportive! All the best to you!

Thanks for your comment, and thanks for sharing! Trust me, I know EXACTLY how you were feeling!! I think about half of the teachers in my school witnessed me crying at some point last year! It gets so much better after the first year, I promise. :)

Last year was my first year and I felt the SAME way!!! I feel better knowing it's not just me going through a rough year.
