Teaching Blog Expo Question and Answer

Hello everyone! I am so excited to have been a part of the first ever Teaching Blog Expo! It was so fun to be able to work with other TBA authors and share our ideas and experiences with teaching blogs.

I am opening up my blog for Q&A to anyone who viewed the Teaching Blog Expo {or anyone who has questions about teaching blogs in general!} Feel free to leave your question in the comments and I will do my best to answer them!

  2. Great job, Hadar. I have a couple questions for you:
    1) Do you know how to embed fonts so that when others view your blog who don't also have the same font on their own computer will see the font as you want it to appear?

    2) If we want to create our own blog "theme" - the whole package - do you know of a good tutorial online? I am specifically wondering how to format a background so that it will be visible no matter how long a page might be.

    Thank you,
    Susan

  3. Thanks so much for your tutorial - you did a great job! I am wondering if you can help me with uploading a file onto my blog. If I create something in word or powerpoint and want to share it on my blog, what is the best way?

    Thanks so much,

    Abby

  8. Great job. I've been avoiding starting my blog for a year but now it's really clear. I've got it up with a background (thanks!) but my autobiography is a big black box running across the whole thing. How do I fix that?

  9. BBFF, it was fantastic! :) I've been at this for a year now and I even learned a few new things. :)

  10. Hi Susan! Thanks so much for attending the Teaching Blog Expo. I am not exactly certain how to embed fonts, but I will look into it and let you know if I figure it out! Also, try this tutorial by Kevin and Amanda and see if that helps you with your blog background http://www.kevinandamanda.com/whatsnew/tutorials/how-to-make-a-scrapbook-blog-background.html

Feel free to ask if you need anymore help!

  12. Ricky, I just checked out your blog. It looks like you have your "about me" section set as a footer instead of on the sidebar, that's why it's a large box. Also, I've found that if you use shabbyblog designs it's best to set your blogger template to "picture window" instead of "simple". Try that and let me know if you still need help!

  13. How do I change the template to Simple? And can I get rid of that black background? I've tried the background and type color. This is driving me nuts. I need private lessons!

  19. I was wondering how all the amazing blog sites have these great pictures of what they made and when the user clicks on it, it send them to the download page. My question is: what program do I use to make those cute-scrap-book-like images to then link up to a file.

    Thanks for the help.

  21. I just started viewing your video and so far I'm learning a lot. But the video is running a good 20 seconds slower than the audio so I'm having a hard time following everything. Any tips on how to fix this? I don't want to miss anything. Thanks!
