Currently...Interesting...and Thanks!

I love Farley's currently parties. Except I always "pre-write" them in my head and then have to change what I planned because it's not so current anymore! Anyway...
The 3 words start with the first letter of your last name and describe what your students, friends and family think of you.

Enough about me, let's talk about my blog. Haha! Love that phrase! Anyway, I got my first "negative" comment yesterday. I don't know that it really qualifies as negative, but I sure know it wasn't positive! I posted some St. Patty Day freebies on my facebook page the other night {one activity that I made last year for my kinders and one that I made this year and plan on using with my firsties}. The next morning I got a comment that stated "that is not a core standard for K now". Sorry? {I added the question mark because I don't understand the comment!} I'm guessing she was referring to the activity that I'm doing with my first graders.  I went through the stages of grieving, I looked up common types of negative blog comments to see where she falls. Maybe she was just upset because she was so excited about my free activity and just couldn't find a way to fit it in to her schedule. Anyway, as you can see, I'm still not over it. But hey, at least it means I'm becoming something in the blog world!!

I also wanted to give a huge thank you to all the sweet bloggers who awarded me this week. It helps to remind me why I love blogging :)

These are some really great bloggers! Go check them out if you don't already follow them!

  1. I think it's so weird that someone would take time to leave a negative comment on a *free* idea...it's not like they were being forced to use it! haha! I would just shake it off, some people always have to feel right/correct even if they're not at all. Your blog is awesome!

  2. Brush it off and move on! I had someone ask me if I would downscale my monthly writing packs and sell them for $1. WTH!! REALLY?? Her starbucks costs her WAY more than $1!! People don't realize how much time, energy and creativity we put into our creations. She is just ignorant!
    I think you're FAB!

  3. Dear wonderful Hadar, We all LOVE you! You have an amazing sharing spirit!!! Please, please, please don't let MIss Negative get you down. As one California girl to another, we are out of sync with most states because we are NOT supposed to be teaching to the Common Core standards yet; our districts are expecting us to stick to the California standards. So the person who wrote you is super out-of-line. She has no idea what our standards are. I.G.N.O.R.E. her and pay attention to all of us. In case you missed this before: WE LOVE YOU!!!

  4. WTH?.. (i had to show restraint and use an H there btw)... why do people bother commenting if they don't have anything nice to say? Their mother's should teach them better. :D

Seriously though, with the hundreds (jeez... nearly thousands) of people who follow you and the other hundreds that stalk and dont' follow - I'd say you can definitely hit IGNORE and DELETE that comment. Rude.

You, your blog, your work and ideas are fab. She was obviously confused. My mom always says people who say mean things are just jealous.

  7. I totally agree with Traci...if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all! I really don't understand how people can take the time to negatively comment on something...waist of time and energy!

Don't allow that person to make you feel bad...you have LOTS of people that ADORE you and your cute blog!

Thanks for all you do and share! :)

  8. I wonder what goes through someone's mind as they put out the effort to make a negative comment? I mean, really? What's the point?
If you know who it is, you should charge them double if they ever buy from you!

My mind is boggled with those people that think freebies should suit their needs. Sorry about that.

  15. aww... people should be grateful for someone spending so much time on things and offering them for free - I know sometimes when people type things they do not always sound like they want them to...maybe this was one of those times... regardless, you have a wonderful blog:)
