At this time of the year, my students get restless pretty quickly! They're becoming quicker at finishing their work and anxious for summer vacation! {side note: I put my summer vacation countdown up on Monday and showed my kiddos. When they came in on Tuesday, they asked if I changed the number. My response was "it was the first thing I did!" ha! I think I might want summer vacation more than they do ;)} Anyway...I created this fun get movin' with math activity for our February centers and decided to pull it out again.
The purpose of the game is to practice addition {or number recognition}, plotting on a graph and getting exercise all at the same time! I give my students a mini-kit which is made up of a game board, a set of dice and a dry-erase marker. I typically take my kids outside to play, but they can play this inside as well.
They set out the game board and roll the dice. The first die tells them which exercise to complete. The second and third dice tell them how many times they need to complete the exercise! Once they've successfully completed it, they color in the box. If it's rolled again, the player loses a turn.
They're engaged, learning and having fun all at the same time! Winner!
You can pick up a copy of this game for free at my TpT store!
**Light bulb moment!**
While linking up my game, I realized that blogger has an option to "open up this link in another window" DUH!! Why have I never noticed that before!?
