DIY Door Sign

 Is it obvious that I'm obsessed with DIY crafts yet?? They are seriously my favorite! Here's a little door sign that I made for one of my teaching buddies who is teaching 1st grade this year. {hi!}

Isn't it adorable?!
I found that over-sized apple during my first visit to Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago! Can you believe that I had never been to a Hobby Lobby before?! It's not my fault, I've always wanted to go! But there wasn't one by me. When I found out one was opening it was like Heaven on Earth! SO.MUCH.FUN!!

Here's what you need to make this door sign:
{why is it sideways?! who knows}
*over sized wooden apple
*paint pen
*ribbon

I always do a rough draft on paper before I attempt to write on the wood because I make a mistake every single time! So after I practice and get it the way I want, then I write on the wood.

Do one layer with the paint pen, let it dry for about 5 minutes and then go over it again.

Hot glue two pieces of ribbon onto the back of the apple and tie together at the top.

Easy peasy!?

I also made a couple for my blogging friends that I was so lucky to meet in NYC! I love them! {the signs and the girls!}

Let me know if you try this craft!

Hi Hadar! I just bought my first paint pen yesterday and already L.O.V.E. it! Your post has inspired me to use it even more! I have never been to Hobby Lobby either, but one is opening near me soon. (I think Hobby Lobby is just now invading California!)

Oh, the To Do List just got longer because we must make that adorable apple! Too cute Hadar and you are so crafty. Have you watched Craft Wars? We are obsessed! :)

We'd never even heard of Hobby Lobby until all the teacher blogs. Southern Cal needs those...or, maybe not?!? ;)

Once you visit a Hobby Lobby you will be addicted to it! I frequent Hobby Lobby 3-4 times a week. I love your cute writing on the apple sign. I wish I had the talent to do that freehand!
