Stamp it Up!

My students love using alphabet stamps during literacy centers. They're great for letter recognition, fine motor practice and they break up the monotonous "paper and pencil" work. I made a whole bunch of stamping printables for my students to use during our literacy stations. Here's a peek!

Stamp and Draw: stamp an alphabet letter and draw a picture of something that starts with that letter. I also have my students use their "best guess" spelling to label each picture.

Stamping beginning sounds:

Stamping all the sounds in CVC {consonant, vowel, consonant} words:

Stamping rhyming words: the students first think of a word that rhymes with the boxed word, then stamp it and illustrate it.

I also included some sight word stamping practice.
In this activity, they stamp the sight word and write it for extra practice.

This one is my favorite! Stamping sight words to complete sentences. This is definitely a challenge for some of my students!

I picked up the upper case and lower case stamps at Michaels for about $6 {after I used my 40% off coupon!}. You can also find them through or Lakeshore Learning! And look at this fabulous idea I found on Pre-K Pages on how to store the alphabet stamps!

Ice cube trays!! So smart!! She suggests writing the letters on the bottom of each space with a permanent marker so they students can put them back in the correct spot, but I used some letter stickers I had on hand instead..

You can find these stamping activities, and more, in my new Stamp it Up unit!

P.S. Don't you just love my new blog design!? I'm a tiny bit obsessed! Kassie from Designs by Kassie did a FABULOUS job of capturing me in my design! Thanks Kassie!
